Our Terms & Conditions

Booking & Deposits

  • Once a booking has been confirmed in writing, either via Facebook/Email/WhatsApp or any other forms of social media, this written agreement will henceforth be classed as a confirmed booking. This confirmation will apply regardless of whether a deposit has been taken or not, and the cancellation policies will be enforced. A confirmed booking constitutes as a contract between the booker, referred to hereafter as the Client, and Purple Owl Face Painting, and constitutes as acceptance of our terms and conditions.

  • The deposit/booking fee is non-refundable in the event the booking is cancelled for any reason.

  • In the event that the Client cancels the Event they will be liable to pay cancellation charges as follows:

  1. Cancellation over 60 days prior to the Event Date: No Fee
  2. Cancellation made 30-59 days prior to the Event Date: 25% of Total Invoice
  3. Cancellation made 15-29 days prior to the Event Date: 50% of Total Invoice
  4. Cancellation made less than 15 days prior to the Event Date: 100% of Total Invoice

  • It is up to the Client to check our policies and we do not have to advise the Client directly of our terms and conditions. Should the payments not be made, we reserve the right to recover our costs via a third party.

  • Any alterations to the terms of booking require a notice period of 8 weeks, otherwise the original confirmed day/timings will be payable. This is due to the fact other events may be booked in before or after your event and we cannot always accommodate last minute changes. The only exception to these conditions would be adverse weather conditions (as advised by the Met Office) and the full balance will not be applied but a percentage only of 50%.

  • Cancellations from us can sometimes be unavoidable, due to staff illness, family emergencies etc.  We do try to give as much notice as possible. If the Agreement is cancelled by Purple Owl Face Painting, the unused portion of the Fee will be refunded to the Client.

  • If for any reason a specified artist is unable to attend an event, then we will do its best to provide another artist associated with Purple Owl Face Painting. If this is not possible, we will either reschedule the event or will refund the Booking Fee.

Health, Safety and Procedures

1. Please ensure that the following terms and conditions are read before booking Purple Owl Face Painting. A booking will be   taken as full understanding of and adherence to the following specifications.

2. We are committed to delivering a high level of professionalism, and use only industry-standard products. If any customer believes they may be allergic to a face paint or glitter, we are happy to do a patch test. Ultimately, all applications of cosmetic products are at the customer’s own discretion, and we will not be held liable for skin reactions.

3. The face painter reserves the right to refuse to work on a customer at their discretion. The face painter will not work on anyone with a skin disease or disorder, anyone who is threatening to their safety, or under the influence of excessive alcohol or other substances. We reserve the right to refuse to paint anything we deem offensive, obscene or inappropriate for the event or age group. We will have further rules and guidance on display to communicate these standards to customers.

4. In line with manufacturer recommendations, we will not apply face paint or glitter to the skin of any child under 3 years, or any child who cannot sit still unaided. We will not paint anyone who appears to be unwilling or does not consent to being face painted; this also applies to sleeping children.

5. We will arrive approximately 15-20 minutes before your event is due to start. If required to be in place earlier, this will be reflected in the quoted price.

6. We will arrive fully equipped with products and equipment. If the event is situated outside however, we should be made aware of this in advance, and arrangements made between the client and our service with regards to the provision of an outdoor shelter to protect from the elements.

7. Face painting artists will/can take a ten minute break for every 90 minutes worked after an initial period of two hours.

8. The Face Painter will not be obliged to ‘touch up’ designs once a client has left the stall.

9. We quote and work on a one design per child/adult basis unless the Client specifically requests otherwise. For event bookings in  which face painting is offered to the public, we will monitor the number of people waiting. If necessary, we will  close the line slightly early to ensure we get through everyone by the end of the event.
